Once a year, graduates of all age groups, professors and employees of the Cologne Business School come together for the "Alumni Homecoming" in order to see friends of their studies again and make new acquaintances. The alumni event was initiated by the ºÚÁÏÍø Alumni e. V. with the aim of underlining the lifelong connection between active and former students of the Cologne Business School.
Around 100 guests met this year for the first time outside the ºÚÁÏÍø campus in a restaurant with a view of the Rhine. Prof. Dr. Christoph Willers opened the evening as host and looked back on 25 years of ºÚÁÏÍø in his speech. Many of the guests were able to remember the milestones in the history of ºÚÁÏÍø well or contributed to them themselves: When the ºÚÁÏÍø predecessor International Campus started its studies in 1993, the first bachelor's class only comprised 14 students. Thus they laid the foundation stone for the success story of the university with currently around 1,500 students from 75 nations. In addition to looking back, Prof. Dr. Christoph Willers let the guests participate in current university projects. The Center for Advanced Sustainable Management at the Cologne Business School, in cooperation with the Humboldt University Berlin and the Hamburg School of Business Administration, has succeeded for the first time this year in organizing Europe's leading CSR and sustainability conference 8th International Conference on Sustainability and Responsibility in Cologne. The symposium ended very successfully with over 500 participants.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the university, the ºÚÁÏÍø also launched the initiative "ºÚÁÏÍø cares for", for which donations were also collected at the Alumni Homecoming: Companies such as Fortuna Köln, 1. FC Köln, Heerdt - Einrichtungsweisend, TK- The technicians and La Barra had donated various prizes for a raffle. The lottery ticket sale that evening was worth around 500 euros, which will be donated to the UNICEF education project.
After the official welcome, the guests had the opportunity to exchange their experiences and developments after graduation. Until the early hours of the morning they networked with old and new friends and celebrated to the music of DJ Till West.
